Escape from The Maze Network
A downloadable game for Windows and Linux
Welcome to The Maze Network.
Escape from The Maze Network is a multi-perspective shooter centered around short mazes set in a digital world. Guide Spryte through mazes as you discover new weapons and enemies with a mix of retro and modern aesthetics throughout. Mazes will vary. Mechanics will change. The perspective will change. Be ready for anything, because in The Maze Network, anything can happen.
Key features:
Mechanical variety. Wile Escape from The Maze Network (EMN) is a shooter at its core, most levels will have gimmicks sprinkled in to keep gameplay from becoming too repetitive.
Respecting players' time. Save points are placed such as that you will never lose more than a few minutes of time should you die. In addition, gimmick segments are designed to never last longer than 15 minutes.
Multiple perspective. EMN will frequently change between top-down and first-person perspective. Some mechanics will even change depending on your current perspective.
Mix of retro and modern aesthetics. Enemies are low to mid poly, while environmental textures use pixel-art to emphasize a digital world.
Non-linear progression. While levels are mostly linear, you can tackle them in any order after the third maze. There are also some pickups that require you to return to levels with new abilities to obtain. Others will require you to think outside the box, but can also be obtained through those abilities if you get stuck.
Controls are explained in-game and displayed in the menu as the game progresses.
